Grilled Steak Wrap with Halloumi and Roasted Peppers

INGREDIENTS

125g Sirimon Halloumi Cheese- grated

200g Flank steak cut into thin strips

50g Ice Burg Lettuce Shredded.

100g Fresh Button Mushrooms

2 Red Peppers Roasted in the oven and de-skinned

Pre-Heated oil

For the steak marinade:

2 tbsp. Dark soy sauce

1 tsp. Chopped garlic

1 tsp. Chopped ginger

5ml Cooking oil

A pinch of salt

A pinch of black pepper

For the wrap:

150g All Purpose Flour

20ml Cooking oil

A pinch of salt

60ml Luke warm water

For the batter:

100g Flour

1 egg

Water

METHOD

  1. Marinate steak and cover tightly with cling film. Let it sit in the fridge overnight.
  2. To make your wraps: In a large bowl mix flour, cooking oil, salt and luke warm water to form a smooth dough.
  3. Cut into equal portions and roll out very thinly into circles.
  4. Heat pan and gently color rolled out wraps. Set aside.
  5. Put marinated steak on pan and put to heat until brown and set aside.
  6. In the same pan, sauté mushrooms and set aside.
  7. Drench Sirimon halloumi Cheese shredded in flour followed by batter mixture and deep fry until golden brown.
  8. Put on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  9. Grill Sirimon Halloumi Cheese in pan until light brown.
  10. Place wrap on a flat surface, put steak at the center of the wrap followed by roasted peppers, mushrooms and grilled halloumi.
  11. Sprinkle shredded lettuce on top of the grilled halloumi cheese and wrap tightly.
  12. Serve hot with fried halloumi.
