INGREDIENTS
125g Sirimon Halloumi Cheese- grated
200g Flank steak cut into thin strips
50g Ice Burg Lettuce Shredded.
100g Fresh Button Mushrooms
2 Red Peppers Roasted in the oven and de-skinned
Pre-Heated oil
For the steak marinade:
2 tbsp. Dark soy sauce
1 tsp. Chopped garlic
1 tsp. Chopped ginger
5ml Cooking oil
A pinch of salt
A pinch of black pepper
For the wrap:
150g All Purpose Flour
20ml Cooking oil
A pinch of salt
60ml Luke warm water
For the batter:
100g Flour
1 egg
Water
METHOD
- Marinate steak and cover tightly with cling film. Let it sit in the fridge overnight.
- To make your wraps: In a large bowl mix flour, cooking oil, salt and luke warm water to form a smooth dough.
- Cut into equal portions and roll out very thinly into circles.
- Heat pan and gently color rolled out wraps. Set aside.
- Put marinated steak on pan and put to heat until brown and set aside.
- In the same pan, sauté mushrooms and set aside.
- Drench Sirimon halloumi Cheese shredded in flour followed by batter mixture and deep fry until golden brown.
- Put on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
- Grill Sirimon Halloumi Cheese in pan until light brown.
- Place wrap on a flat surface, put steak at the center of the wrap followed by roasted peppers, mushrooms and grilled halloumi.
- Sprinkle shredded lettuce on top of the grilled halloumi cheese and wrap tightly.
- Serve hot with fried halloumi.
